Talked to BTR and Texas Speed today
Here’s what they recommended. Anyone have any input?
@Will miller has the stage 3 truck cam in his LQ4 and it sounds pretty great. They didn’t really recommend that for me though.

TSP said 2600-2800 stall converter
BTR said 2000-2200 stall

Anyone have any input on which direction I should go or any other suggestions?

I’ll be running 243 heads with 11:1 compression and 93 pump gas.

I text him from time to time. He's a weird cat, isn't he? :D
Haha I don’t know him that well yet. He knows his stuff though!

Nah, I'm kinda weird. Sometimes I nerd out on stuff and get really in to it, but I generally retain what I've learned...which is handy. I sent him a link to a pretty sweet 216/220 cam from Trick Flow and gave him Martin Smallwood's number in case he wanted to holler at him. I also asked some more details about the setup he's going to run and stuff like that.

I've never liked Texas Speed and I'm not a particularly big fan of Brian Tooley as a person. My cam came from a dude up in NY name Bret Bauer. Savant level smart type of dude. Martin knows his stuff as well.

A lot of it depends on what he'll be able to use on the exhaust side of things. I'd hate for him to get a super sweet cam and have it choked out on the exhaust. If that winds up being the case, a smaller cam may work out better overall. Such was the case with my original setup only having 1.625" primary shorty headers on it. Now that I have a 92mm throttle body, ported TBSS intake, and 1.875" long tubes with 3" exhaust, I could certainly run a bigger cam, but have never bothered. Now that this is back in my mind, I might hit him up and see what he says... I can already break 37s loose on pavement with 4.10s and a locker in a 6000 lb truck.
