Does anyone have experience warrantying motor mounts from Mountain Off-road Enterprises. I was referred to them by several people due to their lifetime warranty and indestructability. Unfortunately it seems like my little 4.0 is stronger than this "Bomb-Proof" motor mount (or maybe its my driving šŸ˜‚ ). I've contacted them a couple of times but they have yet to respond.

How did that bend even happen? Did the bolt get stripped out or cross threaded then fail later? No help with MORE I use Ironman.

I'm curious to know what happened.

Looks like a cross threaded bolt. That's generally installer error. If the bolts loosened and the brackets bent, that's not their fault.

Don't know about their warranty, but pretty sure they advertise lifetime warranty.

I had one issue with their bomb proof motor mounts, but they sent me a new set immediately (I only needed one). That was over 15 years ago, so sadly I have nothing relevant to offer...

I'm 99% sure it wasn't cross threaded because I hand tightened the nut (Grade 8) on and then torqued to spec. At some point the nut completely sheared off the threads. You can freely slide a nut over the threads up to the point where the washer/lock washer were. I don't know when the nut sheared off so the bend happened sometime after that, the other bolt held fine.

I just went and looked and the bolt head has no markings on it indicating its a SAE Grade 1 or 2. Maybe the mismatch in grade caused the failure due to difference in hardness (I bought the nut separately because its not included)? I'm completely fine purchasing a new set if I made a mistake, but that seems weak if a stronger nut will completely strip it under load.

So your saying a new nut will just slide over those boogered threads? Seems to be too much thread left there for that. It would be weird for them to use hardware that's not, at least, grade 5. A mismatch in grade could definitely cause pulled threads. One can handle greater torque.
