Mall Crawler Kills Woman

Suppose Im a miserable prick, sucks that she was killed, but unless she was standing right infront of the tires licking the treads, I would say she could have easily escaped her fate, stupid should hurt.

Its sad that she died in that manner though.

This story makes it sound like no one has ever been hit and killed by a drunk driver in any other kind of vehicle. I hate it happened, but a drunk sorority girl in a prius could just as easily have done the same thing.

54" boggers on the DD, nice.... dude looked like a dickfart for laughing while being interrogated.

I've got family in the DFW area & these kind of trucks are all over the place that being said this story wouldn't have made the news if it was any other vehicle. I was also thinking how did she not hear the truck running seeing how all these trucks are ridiculously loud.

This is no doubt a very sad incident. A woman was also just killed by a hit and run in Roanoke Rapids by what was believed to be a Ford Taurus, ironically in the article there was no mention of a low riding vehicle or small tires. Go figure.

Dude mustve made it rain in that club! Looks like he had money to burn... yeah it showed he was a drunk dude when he was laughing and spitting during the interrogation... I dont see how the girl got run over either unless he was tryin to pop a wheelin in that thing! Sick truck though...

am i the only one that saw that this monster truck had tires that "appeared to be at least 3 feet high"? what a monster!!!!

I think this was a very sad event . But I think the truck was legal by the Texas laws from reading the link in the article . this is just fuel for the fire on anything that is lifted and yes those are 54 inch Boggers . I also believe if you have a truck that high you should have some sort of camera for the rear and sides if you can't clearly see out of it .

I think he ran her over pulling forward out of a space.

I am 6 foot tall and when drove 18 wheelers and walked in front other trucks i mad sure i had eye contact with the driver before i walked in front of the truck.

Yeah I get the feeling from the Article, she has never had the Pleasure of Driving an 18 wheeler for a living.

but...
Friends and family members say she was not an employee of the club.
I was wondering WTF she's doing in front of a mall crawler @2:30am in the parking lot of a strip club

sad story nonetheless

^this
She shouldn't have been walking infront of that rig. But as always, the driver shouldn't have been driving drunk.

Sad story for sure. However, I was taught to look both ways and be alert at a very young age where there may be traffic...I don't see how you don't see a rig like that moving. The dude was obviously a 'problem' and had a suspended license, so instead of blaming the size of the truck for this situation, I'd rather see the blame placed on the folks that kept him on the streets to be able to get behind the wheel of a vehilce while intoxicated.

Sad story but I know for myself Im 6'5" and something that big, I aint walkin RIGHT in front of that thing, Ima be out where he can see me or I can see him, especially if its running. Maybe she was 3 sheets in the wind also and she wasnt paying no attention, in that case they oughta drop the manslaughter thing cuz she was drunk in pub-LIC

According to the police report, two of the Ford's giant tires, which appear to be at least three feet tall, rolled over McKenzie. However, Crutchfield told police he didn't realize anything had happened until other people stopped him in the parking lot

I do not have much expirence being drunk, but how do you not know you are running over someone, did you assume it was a curb?

I agree that she was very foolish to walk in front of the truck. Not sure I support dropping manslaughter though. I don't see how you run over a person and don't feel it. I suspect that was more from the alcohol than from the tire size. Anyone heard what the guy's blood alcohol content was? I've never driven a vehicle on 54s, so maybe I just don't know how well they flatten out the bumps.

Lol, one of the last times I was in Roanoke Rapids I saw a guy at the pharmacy walk right past a shopping cart that someone had left in front of his truck, climb into the cab, put the truck in gear, run over the shopping cart, and then jump out wondering WTF just happened. He was in a parking space in the middle of the lot where he could back up or pull through forward and he decided to pull forward.

I had a dumb*** tractor trailer driver run over my utility trailer a while back. He pulled up behind me at a red light at the end of the exit ramp in Clayton. He couldn't see the trailer from inside his cab although he surely saw it as he was pulling up behind me. I guess after 30 seconds he forgot why he left so much room and decided to pull closer to my truck. I'm sitting there with my foot on the brake and all the sudden I start to move forward. He had no idea why I was yelling at him until he got out and saw what he had done.

People are just inattentive as hell. You really do have to count on them to do the dumbest things and keep a safe distance. Yes, pedestrians have the right of way in nearly all situations, but you're an idiot if you decide to assert that right of way in a situation where a driver might not be able to see you or might not be able to stop in time.

Thats sad, but on a side not thats like walking across an interstate with 70mph traffic and except not to get hit. I wonder just how drunk he was, I'm pretty sure you would've felt that. I'm still wondering what the heck they she was doing at a strip club at 2:30 in the morning.
