I just got in from woring outside for 2 hrs..

WOW it is bad outside..

I can hardly see more then 1 mile out my office window..

Wildland fires east of the Triangle.

Hell, even here in CH/Durham I can smell it.

I thought it was just some haze... then i stepped outside.

Wral article noted columbia NC, about 100mi away from raleigh the way the crow flies.... Thats alot of smoke.

Wral is also saying that small children and elderly folks should not be outside breathing this smoke for prolonged amounts of time..

96 rock just had director of air quality on the phone and he said it is the worst they have seen.

it is now Code RED for today and tomorrow

So what were you doing outside? Don't you listen, or is your hearing gone too? :flipoff2:

It definately sucks in Kinston! I felt like I was breathing sand spurs this morning. Yesterday it was thick enough in Greenville that the runway lights at PGV airport were on at about 3:00 pm.

One of my best friends works for NC forest service and he is there fighting the fire.
He was burned up a bit yesterday and was rushed to the medic and back at it today....I cant smell it, but I hope they get some rain out there.

We're seeing it in Sanford today, probably not as bad as Raleigh area. Fayetteville even got a little.

drivin home today from durham to cary i crossed over 40 people were defanitly drivin alot slower i probably could see a mile down 40. i wish the wheather man would stop lyin about all this rain we were supose to get this week. they say its gonna rain and i get all happy and then it never does i hate it. but it could be worse we could all be on the east coast cookin or loosin our homes i hate that for them best of luck to them and there homes. oh ya how did it start anyone know?

Couldn't see it last night, but a thin layer of smoke has reached the Oak Ridge/Stokesdale area this morning.

Sitting outside on Break last night in Claremont, we could smell it. For those who don't know, that's near Hickory NC
This is a big one!
