Figured I would ask you guys about a setup im looking at Im going to be putting duals in my truck finally and wanted to get yalls input.

I already have a forward shift case with 4.7s but the crawler box im looking to get already has a marlin adapter clocked 10 degrees,I was wondering if I had to modify my floor or anything for it?

I have the r151 turbo trans in mine so its 23 spline and I will have to change out the input shaft in this crawler box to 23 spline.

I will also hove to change my forward shift to top shift right? How hard is that to do and where can you get a kit to convert it?

If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate it thanks!!

yes.

You will want the 4.7s in the back case, and thus you will want to convert it (or swap gears around). You should be able to get the forks you need from Marlin (or inchworm, or FROR, or TG...its a common thing, they arent hard to get).

You will probably need to modify the floor a little bit with a Toyota Service Tool (a big ass hammer) and you will have to cut out a TON of floor if you are trying to go flat with it.

Once you get all the parts, its really straightforward and easy. It literally just bolts in place and off you go (after you change your driveshafts and crossmembers around.)

yeah I had read alot off of pirate4x4 and no Im not wanting to go full flat belly but since the one i was looking at already had a clocked adapter on it I figurd i would see what it took to clear it.

Does the crawler box have to be a certain year to bolt up to the back of my 151 trans?I hadnt really thought about bolt pattern wise bolting up lol.

Also how does the crossmember bolt up if the case is clocked upwards?Do you have to make your own custom crossmember?

I dont think you need another adapter to bolt it up, just the input shaft.

You will need a new crossmember, the stock one wont work bc it will be 6 inches too far forward to begin with...and with it being clocked it would need to be changed anyway in order for it to be right. I would go with the FROR ring and then fab up your own crossmember. Just make sure you GUSSET the shit out of the rings...I tore right through that steel on mine the first trip out with it bc I there wasnt enough material there (i didnt have the room to add any becuase of my seat cage and flat belly).

put the foward shift rails in the first reduction box, then use the top shift rails in the back case. They swap back and forth no problems, cases are the same either way.

since you have a turbo tranny, you need to make sure you have 23 spline inputs and the adaptor is a 23 spline adaptor. If you still have the stock gears you took out when you put the 4.7s in, you could use thous

Well I already have a budbuilt when i put my new single 4.7 case in but I guess I will have to check out another one for duals.

Im not sure at this time if im going to do duals now anyways the only reason I wanted them was to go faster in the trails haha!20 mph in 5th is not fast enough...........you know I like to try and keep up with buggies lol!

We will see and thanks for the info guys!

I have an extra 2.28 MC 23 spline input gear if you need one. Oh and you could get the cross member plate from Mud Pro here on the board, great guy plus he's local. LINK
