This is a truck I'm building for a customer, I thought he might like to see some pic's of it on here. When its finished it'll be a full tube back half and pretty minimal front exo and bumper. 4-link rear, 18" air shocks,
I really hate that you built that bed like that, because I didn't get around to it first!! Ive been floating around with almost that exact shape for my comanche. I figured I would go with 14" airshocks, though.
I plan on ordering them this week, but I was wondering if you think the longer 18" shocks will balance well with a leaf sprung front end? Seems kinda extreme?
Yea man there are so many different designs out there its almost impossible to not copy someone else. There aren't but so many ways to do it.
I have a buddy that runs this similar setup on his yota, 18" air shocks rear and 6" all pro springs up front. It flexes better than most buggies I've seen. In the near future I'll more than likely be building a link suspension for the front of this thing too. So I figure we should go all out on the rear now and not have to upgrade it later.
Haven't gotten a whole lot done this week, had a couple other things going on, but I did get a little more tube on till I ran out. This picture shows a little better what the final profile will be.
Thanks. There should be a few more pictures this week. I've got to order more tube monday morning. I hope to have it rolling minus air shocks by the end of the week. I appreciate everybody making it to check out the shop last night, had a good time.
If i keep my s10 im going to talk to you about tubing the rearand and four link. Thats some good quality welds and fab work. cant wait to see it in person.
damn son!!! man those 14 hour days are killing me know too, now I know what you mean, tell "skittles" Im still down for the stocks. just need one day off!!
Yup all TIG'd except for a few places where it ties into the frame.
Yea the wall designs were done by jeepman who was in the shop with me for a while. When he left I figured I would leave them I think there kinda neat. But it's still a jeep
Swung by the shop this morning and got to see the truggy first-hand and I must say, Chris does some real clean work. I look forward to seeing what else comes out of that place.
By the way Chris, Dave and I are going to fab up the basic winch mount for my rig whenever we find the time over the next few months. I'll probably bring you some business after that. We talked about having you do the tube work to turn it all into an actual bumper. Gotta support the local fab shop.
Gotta get the fuel cell and pump and mount it. Then air shocks. Then the whole thing gets torn apart I'll finish welding and paint it. So hopefully within a month It'll all be done minus John coming up with some wheels and tires.
