Dear Forum members,

I am writing to formally invite your club to the 2nd annual Maryland Jeep Club Fall Charity Ride. We would greatly appreciate your support. This year’s event is for the benefit of the Fisher House. Below, I have included some information on the Fisher House as well as the event itself. Last years event was a great success, and we need your help to build for the future!

The Fisher House, www.fisherhouse.org , is an organization that helps create a “home away from home†for the families of injured or sick service men and women. The Fisher House involvement in this activity has saved families an estimated $60 million since 1990. With our nation’s current military deployment there is an increasing need to provide more temporary housing for these families while they care for their loved ones – America’s Heroes.

This year’s event will be bigger, better, and cheaper than last years! The event will take place over Labor Day weekend, September 1st - 4th . The event registration begins noon on Friday. We will have dinner and bonfire to kick-off the event. Parents will be happy to find kids games this year. This will allow the parent to relax enjoy the DJ and the atmosphere. Saturday involves a great day of wheeling in small groups. We want to everyone to have a great time, but not wait in line! You will return Saturday evening to another catered dinner. The DJ will be back to entertain, and to help us with the raffle. Last year we handed out thousands of dollars in merchandise. Almost everyone went home with a prize! We aim to do the same this year. We have contacted over 600 potential sponsors, and hope to hand out extravagant amount of prizes. Sunday includes another full day of wheeling. We will have optional wheeling for those interested on Friday and Monday at an additional, but discounted rate. This fundraiser is attendance driven. The more people that come, the more money the Fisher House receives. Your all-inclusive fee will cover Camping on Friday and Saturday night. It will also cover 2 catered dinners, and one raffle ticket. You will have the option to purchase additional raffle tickets if you please, but you will at least have one chance to win included. Your registration fee also includes the DJ that will play on Friday and Saturday night. The fee covers your wheeling at Paragon on Saturday and Sunday as well. Feel free to visit our charity ride webpage to find more details including registration info at http://www.marylandjeepclub.org/charity06/.

Last years event was a huge success. We raised thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish foundation. We had over 75 people and 40 vehicles in attendance. The food was great, people were nice, and the wheeling was excellent. The price for this year’s event is to be determined. However, it will be much cheaper than the 2005 event.

The Fisher House is a great conduit for our organization to say thank you to those who have put our country ahead of themselves and sacrificed so much for us. Please help us to say thank you to them by coming out and having a great weekend of wheeling! Feel free to contact me with any questions. My email address is erh126_28@hotmail.com . Thank you for you time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Erik Holt
