master cyl

I recently upgraded my front and rear axles along with disck brakes. The brakes are now real loose. I was told it was the master cyl but I installed a new one and still loose. Do I need a larger bore cyl and if so what would fit on my 87 yj? I need breaks bad .

did you bleed all the air from the new master cyl?

If you went to axles with larger calipers than the stock30/35 axles and you are still running the stock MC, you will probably need a different MC. Here's a link to some discussion on the subject.

If you have rear drum brakes try adjusting them out somemore that will cause soft brakes. You can tell if it is a master cyl by pumping the brakes up ande hold the pedal down and if it sinks to the floor it is usally the master cyl unless you have a leak.
