I'm getting a cv driveshaft cut down for my cj. I won't to make shure I do it right. First measurement was with vehicle lifted and suspension hanging. (full extension) For a compressed length, with the vehicle on ground, do I measure then or add a few hundred pounds to the vehicle to account for passengers, gear, and compression and then measure.

What I done was twist the side where the driveshaft goes. Here is what I done to get my compress measurements.I drove it through a ditch and got the front end in a full twist to measure for the driveshaft.

The problem is compression. If you get a little air under your tires and come down it will compress your springs significantly. I just measure at normal ride height with tires on the ground and then add two inches either way for travel.
