Looking for a UTV for my parents to use around their property. My 2009 Ranger EV is about the perfect size, and I love the bench seat and the fact that most of the vehicle is bed instead of cab, so looking for something similar. Requirements would be fuel injected, bench seat, 4x4, and dump bed. Also, like the good ride of the longer travel suspension on the Ranger compared to the Kawasaki Mules that I've been in. Target price is around $5-6k, but could stretch up to maybe $8k for the right thing. I'm thinking older Ranger 700/800 or a newer 570 or maybe a Honda Pioneer 520 or 700 (mostly out of price range). Is there anything else worth considering? Maybe a Kubota RTV or some of the John Deere's? I'm not at all familiar with either of those options.

Got a friend who rolled the dice on a CF Moto. I’ve ridden in it. It’s nice, has great power (1000 model), and all the bells and whistles the major brands have. Looks just like a ranger. He’s been happy with it and they’re a bit cheaper.

Hows the rough terrain ride on the newer ones? And by newer I mean like 2010+ I guess.
It's slow enough it doesn't matter, lol. As good or better than a golf cart with way more payload. Will you slosh your open beer out in the cup holder? YES. Will you suffer spinal damage? NO. Can you go fast enough to bounce out of the seat? Depends on the Steering wheel pedal ratio.

I know you said 4x4 but if you don’t NEED it then I would look at utility golf carts. We’ve got one (Club Car so all aluminum frame, etc.) & it’s been great esp with the push button dump bed. It’s got enough ass to hook to & pull around my 16’ 10k car hauler fwiw

It will probably double as a trail bomber and firewood chaser at their place in the mountains, so ride quality is pretty important over rough stuff at speed. I'm not talking Trophy Truck smooth, but golf cart over big bumps isn't very inspiring ;) Also, 4x4 is a must have.

Your welcome to stop by Mocks Vegas and tool around in my unit. We can go firewood hunting or beer tasting down by the creek. Or both! If it delights your senses more I'm sure I can find a pile of wood to burn. 😁

This is the path I'm looking at. A decent gas golf cart is a whole lot cheaper.

I'm the opposite - another year or so and the last kid is out of the house. Will be selling the gas cart and filling that spot in the garage with UTV or another motorcycle.
everything I own is old so maybe that has something to do with it but I have a gas Yamaha golf cart 2000 model that I hardly ever use. I have a 2005 mule 4 seater that I use alot.

Anybody know anything about these bobcat UTVs?
Looks like a rebadged Ranger.
Being it's a diesel, if it's anything like the Kubotas I've rode in, I bet it's painfully slow
