Military MTR vs TSL sx

Hey guys I'm currently wanting to try out some new tires I currently have 38" TSL SX and they do great but I want a better tire for rocks. Mtr I can pick up cheap and I don't have many options for a 16.5" wheel. Has anyone wheeled these tires what's your opinion? Are they worth switching to?

I would not say they will be better in the rocks. Grooving your SXs should help them quite a bit.

I've never ran either tire, but from what I've seen I think you'd be disappointed to switch to the military tire.

Cut the center of each Chevron in the SX across the tread pattern and they work a lot better IMO. Flex, cleaning and another biting edge.

SX all the way. The military MTR is terribly hard and cheap for a reason.

cut out the center chevron. Ive got TSL's done this way and they are awesome- the carcass limbers up incredibly. I run militaries on the road but wouldn't remotely consider to wheel them. they flex/bite like bricks. groovers are cheap and effective but you can do the same thing with a hand router. I won't run anything but swampers in the woods on the east coast.
