Dear Sir;
Thank you for your mini-truck inquiry with Best Used Tractors, LLC. We sell used mini-trucks by the container load direct from the supply yards in Japan, the most cost-effective way to purchase. Mini-trucks are shipped in a 40 foot high-cube container only. No other container size is available.
The purchase price of the trucks includes container loading in Japan, Japan inland freight, Japan Export Customs, all required documents, vessel loading, plus the re-fit process each truck will go through in Japan to bring the trucks up to EPA standards for the U.S. market. We will utilize the required emissions and import bond stickers required by the EPA. With each mini-truck we will install a new catalytic converter (1992-1998 models), a new air filter, oil filter and do a complete ignition tune up.
We are currently offering Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Subaru standard cab models and dump trucks 1992 to 2008 in manufactured year. All of the trucks will be 4WD. Prices on the 1992 to 2002 trucks follow immediately. (For newer model mini-trucks 2003-2008 see specialty truck prices below) Sorry, no mini-deck vans or extended cabs at this time.

1992 to 1998 in manufactured year: $3285.00 per truck
1999 in manufactured year (all with A/C): $4220.00 per truck
2000 in manufactured year (all with A/C): $4420.00 per truck
2001 in manufactured year (all with A/C): $4720.00 per truck
2002 in manufactured year (all with A/C): $5320.00 per truck
Estimated shipping and insurance 40ft container from Osaka, Japan to: Door delivery (your place of business): $3000.00 to $5500.00 depending upon your location
Placing an order / Payment procedure: The shipping quote listed is an estimate. Ask for an exact freight quote only when you are financially ready to make an immediate purchase. The freight quote comes from Japan and takes 3 to 5 working days and will be to the exact dollar. I will need a street address, city, state and postal zip code where you want the container shipped. The freight quote will be good for 10 days. Payment: Payment is by bank wire transfer. We will invoice you by e-mail or fax. There will be a total of two payments. 1st payment: We will invoice you for the cost of the trucks plus the shipping and insurance charges when the order is placed. 2nd payment: We will bill you for the cost of the U.S. Customs inspection and import broker fees when the container arrives at the Port of Entry approximately 7 to 10 days before your trucks are delivered. You will see a copy of both invoices. Please be advised we will not know the Customs and import broker fees until the container arrives in port. Estimated U.S. Customs and import broker fees: $550-$750 per container for both. Once the container clears Customs, and your Customs charges are paid, it will be loaded on a railroad flat car and delivered to the nearest trucking company. The trucking company will deliver door.
Delivery Time: 60 to 65 days from date or order.
Quality mini-trucks for our customers: The trucks will be fully operational upon delivery. The trucks will all register less than 55,000 kilometers on the odometer. The trucks go through our extensive checklist prior to shipment and will be screened so only high quality trucks are shipped. We do a compression test to make sure the engine is sound. We will screen out trucks that smoke, trucks that are undesirable. We check the translation of the Japanese export certificate to make sure you are told the true manufactured year of each truck. And we have a very thorough examination of the undercarriage of each truck to eliminate rust. Our goal is not just to satisfy the EPA, but to satisfy you with sound running trucks that also look good even upon close examination from top to bottom. We stand behind our mini trucks. And we are there for you even after you receive your trucks. We will try and find as many of the models as you request but Best Used Tractors, LLC requires the leeway to make your selections for you. Mini-trucks sell very fast in Japan and what is there one day can be gone the next. Say for example you wanted to order a container of all Suzuki trucks. We could load four. The remaining trucks would be at at our discretion. Quality will have priority over preference.
General information: The steering wheel is on the right side (typical for Japan). All have heaters. The most common color is white. Average weight is 1400 pounds (630 Kg). 4-speed and 5-speed manual transmissions are standard. Automatic transmissions are practically non-existent. Engines are water-cooled 660cc (45 HP) 3 cylinder gasoline powered. Subaru mini-trucks are 4 cylinder. We do not sell two-cylinder mini-trucks. Mileage reports are 40 to 50 miles per gallon (U.S. gallon). Sorry, no diesel engines are available. Each mini-truck comes with a certificate of origin, containing the same information as an automobile title. It can be used for change of ownership, title transfer, etc. The certificates of origin will be e-mailed to you by Best Used Tractors, LLC when your container arrives in port.
No earthquake or tsunami damage: Our trucks our shipped from our distribution center in Osaka, Japan and there was no earthquake or tsunami damage in the area. Those trucks damaged by the tsunami are all being scraped and recycled through insurance companies. The law that is in place for handling these types of trucks is very stringent as far as the Japanese government is concerned. The dealers in Japan do not want the liability therefore they will not buy the trucks due the to claim process. Since the damaged trucks will not be issued a normal title, it goes under a salvage title, these trucks can not be exported by Japan Export Customs. Japan Export Customs reviews and clears the paperwork on all mini-trucks shipped from Japan.
Speed restriction: Mini-trucks from Japan are classified as “off road” vehicles and limited to a ground speed of 25 MPH to comply with the import code set by U.S. Customs and the EPA. There are no exceptions. If the speed restrictor is not on the mini-trucks when they are inspected at the Port of Entry U.S. Customs will reject the load and return it to Japan. The speed restrictor is an EPA approved bracket on the transmission housing.
Specialty truck prices / Older model A/C pricing: Mini-trucks with dump boxes can be added to your container at additional prices. These trucks are considered specialty trucks because they are much harder to find in Japan. Add $1,700.00 to the purchase price to switch one standard truck for a mini dump truck. Example. You want to include one 2000 Suzuki dump truck. $4420.00 plus $1700.00 is $6120.00. No more than one dump per load can be ordered since quality dumps are harder to find than the standard trucks, and we do not want to delay your container with a lengthy search for more than one quality dump. For an additional fee of $250.00 per truck we can guarantee at least three of your trucks in the older models 1992 to 1998 will have A/C. Newer model mini-trucks 2003-2008 in manufactured year are also available. Contact me for pricing on the newer model trucks.

Container loading and unloading: On the older model mini-trucks 1992-1998 in manufactured year we load seven trucks per container. Mini-trucks 1999-2002 with the longer wheelbase we load six trucks per container. Short orders of five trucks are available for education facilities, public utilities, corporate use, etc..
The trucks are loaded “piggy back” style. The front axle of the second truck is in the cargo box of the first truck and so on. With two men and a loading dock you can unload the container in about an hour. We will e-mail unloading instructions. The empty container is returned to the shipping company.
