More power from the 2.5?

No. Things I have tried over the years.

Headers. High Flow Exhaust. Electric Radiator Fan. Hi Flow K&N Air Filter. Throttle Body Spacer. High Tec Plugs & Wires.

No appreciable seat of pants improvement! For the money I spent over the years I could have swapped in a 4.0L :)

Lower differential gears will give some seat of the pants improvement at the expense of economy and higher engine RPMs.

I believe Mopar used to make a Performance cam kit for the 2.5L, but I have no idea if it is still available.
BTW, how well does the 2.5 work in front of the SM420?

A lot of people run the flywheel weight inertia ring and that helps a ton when your ideling around the trails.. Definitely helps with the stalling problem...

good luck finding the mopar cam. i've been looking for about 2 years. i haven't been looking hard but i have never seen one pop up for sale or been able to find anyone with them in stock.... new or used.

I had a buddy of mine swap a 4.0 throttle body and a set of 4.0 Injectors... I did the throttle body on my girls but couldnt ever get it to run smoothly...

Thanks for the reminder Mike, I am running Jason's TriCounty Gear inertia ring but to tell the truth I didn't notice much difference.

Strange1, the SM420 was a great swap due to the 7.01 1st gear. A few minor annoyances with the install and I would like something with a little closer ratios but I won't be giving it up anytime soon!

i noticed a little when i swaped a 4.0l throttle body on mine and it runs great. maybe not a lot more power but it feels like it spins up a little quicker when you hit the gas.

currently running
4.0l throttle body
airaid spacer
ricer filter connected to the big air box on the throttle body
stock exhust
gutted cat

it's not a hugh difference but i could feel something with the 4.0l throttle body
