Anybody here bought one?

Looking at one of these:

http://mosquitocentral.com/Dragonfly2.htm

Uses CO2 tanks instead of burning propane, heats up so it has an IR signature, has little chemical attractants too. It sounds like it should work, but it's $400 and reviews on any of these machines are kinda spotty.

hummm well we sale a back pack blower that u use to spray you yard with... sold a few havent had any feed back yet on them but that might be an option also... stihl and echo makes one

When they first introduced these I think one of the testing grounds was Camp LeJune(sp) and it was said that on a one night period that there were hundreds of thousands killed as a result of this machine.

Don't know if this helps or not but here goes. 18 years ago we bought this place in the sticks and the skeeters about eat us alive! I had FIVE bug zappers at one time lit and had to take a air hose and blow them out every afternoon and again in the morning! Friend of mine told me to put out some bird feeders and in a couple of weeks no skeeters! I was amazed and we still feed the birds to this day!

Really? Just birdseed? We've fed them in the winter before but sort of gave up with all the squirrels getting into it and tearing up the feeders...

That's part of the fun, out smarting the squirrels!

That brings back a memory. Many years ago, when driving around with my dad, I asked him why so many of the older homes had those big tall antenna looking things with gourd bird houses hung very neatly on them. His reply was that was the only way they had to get rid of the bugs, mainly mosquito's. So I then asked, OK, so what about all the bird crap. Dad passed away years later, but I don't ever remember him answering that one.

I always heard if you put cayenne pepper on the bird seed the squirrels wont touch it,they can smell it and dont like it.

Done that with the pepper, birds don't care but the tree rats don't like it! JC what kind of birds you attracting? I swear it's working for us.

Chip those were for Purple Martins I believe. I have bats flying around here like crazy, no skeeters. When I lived in HKY I was ate up all the time at night.
