Does anybody on here like mud? I can tell everybody absolutely loves them clean rocks, but is there anybody other than myself that likes to get down and dirty?

yes.
His name is Ricky.

and other younger people.
Us old folks are to damn lazy to clean everything, replace all the fluids, replace ujoints, and curse profusely that going through mud requires.

(that being said, because of the laziness my engine compartment and the whole underside of my jeep is a nice backed on terracotta coating. :( )

Mud is fun, I just hate the deep water that tends to come with it.

Around here, you had better like it to some extent. I have not been on any trails that didn't have at least some mud. well,... with the exception of URE in September! I used to run mub bogs, I used to live for a logging trail with mud holes. But, at that time it was all I knew. I can honestly say I have spent more in Mud related repairs than I ever have on the crawler side of four wheeling.

there is a place in oakridge that has a short skip like that, but no mud, just water and unable to see the rocks below

edit, doupt it is good now with the drought and everything..

Heck I don't ever clean my rig I just let the rain do it, its about 10 different colors anyway, having a solid coat of mud makes it look better.

That's pretty much the same way I am, other than taking a hose to the windows so i can see and to the wheels to get rid of the death wobble that comes with 10 lbs of mud stuck to the inside of the wheel :)

Awww man thats the best part :shaking:

What I'd really like to do someday is drive up a creek/river (legally of course) its like the ultimate challenge: water, rocks, mud, logs, sand, everything all in one area :driver:

My grandpa has a creek that runs into his farm and dumps into his pond.....i went out there one day to suprise him while he was fishing, but even though it was during the drought, the water was still deep, and ended up comming up over my hood while i drove by him. He thought it was the funniest thing but it scared the crap outta me. I walked, err swam, through where i drove and the deepest part came almost up to my shoulders.....i guess that's when i floated a lil and just kicked up a bit of water that was clear, not dirty.
But that was such a pain in the butt.....changing ALL the fluids the next day. Learned my lesson.....need way longer breather hoses and always check depth before entering.

So how is uwharrie? I'm planning on going up there in may with some friends, will i find any mud there or is it all dry?

^bwahahaha, that was a fun ride...mostly due to the fact i was on the "clean" side.....which basically means a foot of my left side WASNT in the mud......you were nasty as f*#k after we got pulled outta that mess lol

That is fun untill the water goes over the hood and blows the engine.

that's what a snorkel is for

x2 or just the hose from lowes ran up and ziptied to the top of your cage :driver:

Uwharrie's alright, theres one or two places with mud but its mostly just trails with a few rocks here and there

Thats why we're using it for the race cause its not too crazy that you cant take stockers throu as well as the more modified rigs.

that's cool. now when i have my before and after pics, will my rig be noticeably dirtier or just a bunch more dents and scratches?

Well that also depends on if its rained recently, if its wet all the trails get real muddy, if not then if you wanna get muddy you'll have to probably do it on purpose . . . . Which Is what I do anyway :driver:
