Head down I-40W past Asheville. At about MM 9 you'll pass a rest area. The road is directly off the highway (NO EXIT #) between MM's 8 and 7. Watch for the break in the guardrail. Can be easy to miss if you're not paying attention. You can only get to it going westbound.

From what I've heard, it deadends at the top of the mountain. Today was the first time I'd ever been, and I only went about 2 miles in. Interstate to turn-around and back to interstate took me about 2 hrs. 45 minutes.

It follows the creek a ways and then starts winding up the mountain. Eventually you end up crossing a gravel road and then after another mile it ends at the same gravel road you cross over earlier. Not much challenge to it and unless you are local it really isn't worth the drive. I think the Asheville Rover dealer takes their customers on runs out there. Again, not much challenge to it.

Yep, rode shotgun in a buddy's Rover on that trail. Definitely some scenic spots the further you get into it but not what you would call a challenging trail.
