Well it finally happened.....i have flirted with it several times over, but this was unexpected. I was climbing up the second part of Kodiak Rock at Uwharrie in NC when i some how got a bad bounce and next thing i know im on my roof. Nothing left to do but cut the top off and build a cage with some sort of plastic windshield. i will also be ditching the bed for a flatbed which will be tied into the cab cage and then tied into the bumper and frame in several spots. If anyone has any pics of something like this done, i know they are out there cause i have seen them on pirate, post up some pics for me. Well here are the important parts.....the aftermath. Hope you enjoy. Sorry for the crappy pics but we didnt have a real camera so these were taken by a cell phone.

At least you're ok. A passenger might ot have been so lucky. A roll bar or interior cage could've really helped there.

Dude,
You goning wheeling next weekend? I was thinkingg of going and wanted to see if you wanted to meet and camp some?

tell me about it....it was on my short to do list but i just couldnt afford it at the moment...now i am glad that God took care of my stupidity and made me aware of the must haves...

Contact UNBREAKABLE(Justin Sigmon) on here, he's done 3 or 4 trucks the way you're describing and does and awesome job at it.

I guess you were the guy everyone (that wasn't with your group) was secretly hoping would get some major carnage, and their wish came true :)

That sucks, alot of work for you now, but if you can find a complete cab it shouldn't be too bad, just have to swap everything over. Definetly better looking and more streetable than a chop-top. Heck, just get rid of the cab altogether and build a buggy, you know you want to :D

Looks like the bumper is holding strong. That sucks about the rest. Its just the rock gods telling you to get off you ask and cut that thing up. Let me know when you want to start on the cage.

And get a hawse on the bumper!!!

Chris

To think that was his DD!:driver: WOOPS-A-DAISY
Yea it was bound to happen at some point i guess....at least i have another truck to drive.

I dont know what i should do with it...either way it will be down for a long time cause i dont have the money or time to build it unless insurace is very generous on friday when i meet with the claims person.
Oh yea, since I know you are about my age and started with a nice truck like I did, I gotta ask:
What did your parents say :)
my parents were a lot cooler than i thought they would be...gave me the BS were just glad your ok.
What time did that happen? I was there on the 17th until about 4:00. Glad you are okay!
probably about 6:30-7 that night

yea i need to get rid of the steel cable and go to synthetic and a hawse. the bumper saved my motor tho. the hood only had a couple scratches on it but in all the stinger held the front of the truck off the ground.
man im glad we caught up with you guys, what happened after i left?
we just towed it out of the woods and out to the outpost where we waited for AAA to come and get it that night at about 10:30....for the record, the tow truck driver that came from briscoe is a really cool guy so if it ever happens to anyone else hope for that guy.
Nothing left to do now but rebuild in one way or another....unfortunately it will be a long drawn out build which means that i will want to upgrade things that were not even broke and change things that i wished i could have but didnt want my truck to be down for a long time. any help and financial contributions would be very helpful
