Name that tool!

I've seen threads on other boards like this so I thought I'd give it a try here and see if it goes anywhere...

My Dad bought a box of stuff at an auction a few years ago and these were in it. It may be obvious to some but we're not sure what they're for. I've found that they make a nice dimple in sheet metal for a dzus fastener or a countersunk screw/bolt. Got any ideas?

Good guess, I hadn't thought of that. The tips are so long that they give you very little leverage so I'm assuming they may be for something like upholstry.

No .....it's a Hickorynut cracker or the watchumacallit they use to pierce ears for those big hoops that you put IN your earlobe...................Or a tool you grab a Mules lip with to check it's teeth ?

You were right! After a very disturbing search on "Bing" for ball and ring pliers I unfortunately found out that they are used to stretch leather shoes to relieve pressure on a bunion AKA bunion stretcher LOL. Might have to put these back in the tool box PERMANENTLY!

It was a lucky guess........I would hold on to them too, but i hope you never need to use them!!
