I'm just wondering how hard it is to recieve a dealer license. Just a small time dealer because my family likes to sell/trade and get different vehicles just for fun. Not sure if its worth it, i havent heard much about it. Just thought id look into it a little. If anyone has and info id greatly appreciate it.

Google is your friend. I looked into it a while back and the biggest hurdle in my opinion is you have to have a 50k secured bond.

I believe you also have to have a retail space, insurance, etc. It's more difficult than you'd think.

i was going to do this myself. you have to take a 12hr class, have a building that is zoned commercial and that is allowed to be used as a car lot, then the inspector has to come out and approve it, before he approves it you must have your name out front, insurance, bond, etc, etc..its a pretty long list. once approved, you can apply for the lic. the 50k bond isnt that big of a deal. all that is is insurance. if you have good credit, the rates are very cheap. the only thing that help me back from doing it was that i like doing it for fun and i didn't want to make a living out of it..i felt it could get very stressful if i had to rely on it. if you have any other questions, feel free to pm me. i took the class in charlotte and looked very deeply into this. i may do it one day..but as of now i'm going to continue to do it for fun

wll you could get a wholesle dealers liense and then you dont need the building.
But you will have to find a retailer to handle your paperwork.
Too bad we dont have any car dealers on here that could help out with that....

if your just looking to get good deals on cars, you can use an auction broker.. i use to have a few really good onces saved on my computer but i cant find them now. maybe someone else can post a link
