nc inspection question

hey yall.... i have a 95 wrangler that is close to needing an inspection...... my question is with 95 and older do they still hook em up to the computer or just do a visual safety inspection? (tires, lights, horn etc.?)

thats what i thought..... i called and guy is tellin me they gotta plug it in. i thought they entered tbe vin and stuff manually on 95 and older..... then it uploaded to the dmv.

They just scan the bar code on your registration card when they begin the test.

It still needs to pass a visual inspection of the emissions stuff.
But, only '96 and newer, OBDII, vehicles get hooked up to the computer.
