NC Title Question

So I have titled more than a couple cars in NC before, but this last one has a little on edge.

Went to the DMV with the notatrized Title and the DMV rejected it because the seller checked the wrong box under the milage disclosuer, marked it out and checked the right one. So I had to go back to Raleigh (where the seller lives) and get the second section of the title notarized.

So my question is: The vehicle is a 94, does the odometer section even have to be filled out?

I just don't want to get to the DMV and get screwed again.

If you had the second section notarized as instructed by that DMV office make sure you take that title back there. The back of the title does state pretty clearly that alterations can result in the title being void. Sometimes the seller has to get a new title issued so the whole thing can be done over again. Really the DMV is a bit ridiculous when it comes to this. If you have a notarized signature, and have the title in hand, I don't see what difference it makes. In the end the mileage on the vehicle is not taxed or anything and once a vehicle gets up there in mileage and age who cares? It's not like people are getting notarized records of major parts replacements and etc.

There is not an age limit for the mileage section in NC. When I lived in TX anything over 10 years old was exempt. When I brought my Blazer here from TX they did not record the mileage on my title.
