Need a new drill/driver combo

One reason I went with red is how long have they used the same battery platforms? How often have the other brands changed battery styles?

My M12 stuff seems just as good as my old 18v stuff from a different brand and is much lighter. I did get a M18 hammer drill for harder use. It is real nice to grab a light M12 driver to run a couple screws than a heavy 18v driver.

My new M18 Fuel drill showed up yesterday.....I had too much stuff going on to play with it....but I did get to fire up my new High Torque M18 impact.....HOLY WOW.....that thing hit ONCE on all the lug nuts and spun them off with ease, I had to check a couple with my ratchet just to make sure they weren't all loose, it seemed so effortless to the gun. blew away my old great neck 24v impact gun that struggled to get off more than 2 lug nuts on a single charge.

Late to the party...but I went Milwaukee a couple years ago based on recommendations and deals posted on this forum. Just used my drill and 1/2” impact a couple hours ago replacing the guts of a toilet. Couldn’t get the plastic nut on the bottom of the tank to budge...grabbed the impact and actually said under my breath ‘I told you to move’. And since the drill was sitting there, put a Phillips bit in it and set the water level in about 1.2 seconds instead of 6 seconds with a normal screw driver. Total job took about 40 minutes, 10 minutes to replace the parts...30 minutes repeatedly pulling the trigger in amazement of the torque.
