I am developing a 4" short arm lift kit for WJ's. Need a test jeep. Got to be a 4x4 with a u-jointed front driveshaft. Time frame.. in about 2 weeks.

The kit includes..
Dotesch Shocks
4" Iron rock coils
Longer rear Lower Control Arms (made with factory rubber bushings)
Rear A-Arm spacer
Extended Swaybar Links
JKS Adjustable Trackbar
Dual Steering Stabilizer Kit

This kit would cost you about $1100 to buy from IRO

The idea behind my kit is a complete kit, that is reasonably priced, does not destroy your comfortable jeep grand cherokee ride and handling, and is durable and built to last.

You can see all the parts before I install them.

If you like the kit you can have it for dealer cost on parts which is about $550. I would need your jeep for approx 1 full day to install the kit. Drive it for me and give me feedback. If you don't like it I can remove the kit, return your jeep to stock, and you get a complete and full refund. If one part is giving you trouble I will redesign it and give you an updated part.

No front control arms? Why dual steering stabilizers... what material are you building that arms from?

no front control arms... you don't need em

I have this exact kit on my jeep now and it's working really well for me. I haven't figured out the rear control arms just yet but whatever I build will be complete overkill. I built mine out of 2x2 1/4wall box steel but I need to see if there are tire clearance issues for someone with stock rims. Whatever the final design is will be signed by a structural engineer, and professionally manufactured by a local machine shop.

The 4" lift works well without replacing the front control arms. I know at least one manufacturer recommends you set their adjustable control arms that come with their kit to factory length.

A 3" lift or greater really requires a dual stabilizer. A couple years ago I put a 3" iron rock kit on my WJ and could not get rid of the death wobble. I was on the phone with them, inspecting all bushings/tie rod ends, had it in the alignment shop 3 times... got new tires... Never went completely away until I got a dual SS kit. I don't know why no one includes them in the basic lift kit for a WJ. I know others who have had the same problem.

I have a friend who put the 3" kit on his WJ just last week and couldn't get rid of the death wobble either. Had it aligned and checked meticulously for worn steering/control arm parts. WJ's are just prone to it. Why do you think so many companies make dual SS kits for WJ? Kevins and Iron Rock both make dual SS kits for WJ but don't make them for XJ's and ZJ's.

I've had other lifted vehicles... zj's and xj's and never had a problem with death wobble like the wj. Just ask Kevin http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/wj/wj_dualsssetup.html

This is the reason I am just including the dual SS. I know not all WJ's will get death wobble but I don't want any customers to ever have to deal with that.

The answer to the front control arm question... I thought this too but I have found that what I think "the best" company in WJ kits uses factory length front control arms and a slightly extended rear lower control arm. I had adjustables so I can tinker. This is the setup I am using now and it works.

Thanks for all the PM's and interest. When I have the final parts done I will post pictures up here for you to see and then I'll worry about finding someone who wants the prototype kit. If you have already sent me a PM i'll contact you first.

FYI the $550 is dealer cost on all of the brand new parts from existing manufacturers. JKS T-bar, Dotesch Shocks, Coil Springs, A-Arm Spacer, Steering Stabilizer. If you bought that stuff new it would be about $800 retail. The parts I am making you get for free. And they will be quality...
