Need help running 220V in garage

You mentioned that the breaker is in the garage. please give a little more info such as what size of breaker feeds your garage now like the amp size and does this box or breaker is a single leg [slim ] or does it feed from a double pole breaker {wide} . most contractor installed panels should be feed by a 220 service. If this is the case then all you have to do is install a double pole breaker in your panel and run the circuit. OR is that electrical box on the garage fed with a cord?
a bumpy and rough path makes for a harder target to take aim on!:bounce2::bounce2:

Elliot...

While I'm no *licensed* electrician and *did NOT* stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

In a previous life I've done a bunch of wiring (professionally) and added a 50A breaker and 50A "welder" recpt. to box at home. Since the total load on the panel was WELL under the 200A rating (keeping in mind 80-85% of rated is "full"), I had to throw a couple piggyback breakers to handle a couple of lighting circuits to make room for the 50A breaker. Let me know if you can use a hand... I'm not far away K'Vegas

And to fuel the flames... I've been bit by all the major AC voltages (480, 220, 110). While felt that great, a little zap from a 100VDC speed controller has my vote for the biggest "weiny wilt"! Knocked me several feet away after making my body convulse for a second or 2...
