My front end crapped out in my XJ this week. I have a donor one. Looking for help changing it out this Saturday. Willing to pay. Let me know if you can and what it's worth to you. Might have a few other things to do as well.

X2

Jessica has my weekend planned already.

Dang if you weren't so far away I'd come help ya do it. It cost me more in gas than I make in a week to drive there and back... :)

Hell if I didnt have plans already Id be glad to lend a hand....might could make it up later Saturday evening...

What is wrong with it Chip? If you can get it to my house, We can put in on the lift and I can help on and off as needed. I have a full plate working on the RV, but can give you a hand as needed.

in morganton....call johnny puet (however you spell it), dont know the guy but i heard alot about him...apparently he's pretty good with a wrench.

Nope, not riding. I have to take advantage of the good weather and prioritize this weekend.
I will try and clarify what I have to do. As said, I toasted the front end of my XJ. It was so hot I couldn't even touch the little bolts holding the u-joint straps on. So I am sure there is a lot of damage. I have a whole other XJ donor Jeep that I am gonna use the front end out of. So I have to pull two fronts, and re-install both of them, just switching the Jeep that they are in. Yes, I have to put the bad one in the donor, so it will still be roll-able. Given this scenario, if anyone has some tips as to what to take loose and what not to, please feel free.Sorry Mod, I guess I just turned into a tech item.
Anyway. The list is long of those who can't, anyone on for the can list?

Hummmmmmm..........Thinking.....................

PM Sent. Im available saturday morning.

I have to go to Va for a funeral, but I will add that I would pull the calipers off of each axle and leave them attached to their respective vehicles. At least then you won't have to bleed the brakes.

A little far of a drive to lend a hand. I dont know what gears are in it but if there 3.55 I have a 8 1/4 I will donate to your upgrade list for the rear if you want it. I should be up that way again in the next couple of weeks. Let me know.

I would give ya a hand as well but you are a bit of a hike for me. Good luck with it though! Sorry!

What time are you looking at starting on saturday?

WHen ever, I ain't gonna be choosy since I am needing help.

Well I'll be driving home Saturday (Hickory)

I'll try to leave around...10? 11? From Boone.

I could lend a hand, although I dont know much about dropping an axle, I will do what Im asked to do

Chip, I won't be back from reno until monday, but if you've not got it done by next week then I'm certainly down. What about building a gin pole for the front of your cj for moving the heavy crap around your yard and picking up heep frontends?

If you were available and he wanted to tackle it Saturday late afternoon into the night id pick ya up along the way.

If its gonna be late Saturday (4? 5pm?) I will for sure lend a hand. Morganton isnt too far, and Id like to see how its done for future references.
