need info on how to install 2" pucks

all you need is a jack and some wrenches i think it would be easier if you had some spring compressors and jack it up put those spring compressors on there and slide them on but if you dont have spring compressors just unhook the shock

Like Kyle said but,

It will be a ton easier with the spring compressors (I think they loan them at auto zone), PUT THEM ON BEFORE YOU JACK IT UP. Jack it up remove the tires, Depending on how long your shocks are you can leave them connected. If you have bump stop extensions remove them it will help. The coil spacers may be tough to slid over the bump stop, Some grease will help. Then just repeat on the other side. If your having issues getting it to drop all the way, Unhook the track bar.

Here is an install I found to be helpfull.

The Front

After the Jeep was securely up on jack stands and the front wheels were removed. Remove the shocks, disconnect the sway bar links, and disconnect the bottom mount of the track bar. The Skyjacker directions indicate that these do not need to be disconnected but we found it near impossible to re-install the coil springs with them still connected. Wire brush all the exposed threads and spray them with PB Blaster to aid in removal.

After the shocks are removed and the links are disconnected lower the axle to allow the springs to fully extend. Remove the coil springs. Remove the bump stop by rocking it out of the cup, then remove the bump stop cup.

Slide the coil spacer onto the bump stop mount and reinstall the bump stop cup and the bump stop spacer using the included longer bolt. Reinstall the bump stop into the cup. We found it easy to use a jack to raise the axle and while holding a block on top of the spring mount press the bump stop back into the cup. Install the new shock absorbers, reconnect the sway bar and the track bar.

Shock tip: Installing the poly bushings with the crossbar can be a challenge. Put a small amount of grease on the bushing and using a vice and a socket press the bushing into the mounting eye.

FYI, longer shocks will be a good idea after the install.

I've always used spring compressors, borrowed from friends or AutoZone....never had any luck with the 'just disconnect everything and the coils fall out when you jack it up' method. Hell, after I add the spacers, I really need to crank the coil spring compressors down to get the coils back in. That is with the swap bar and shocks disco'd. I put the XJ uniframe on jackstands, then use the floor jack under the axle to help compress/uncompress the coils as needed.

When putting in new bumpstops, they can be a real PITA, until you grease 'em up, then they slide right in.

ok thanks guys . but do you still think ill need longer shocks cause i have a 4" lift under it all ready im just adding the pucks so my new tires want hit when the jeep is flexing

I had to go to longer shocks on mine, Depends on what shocks you have.

If you use the spring compressors be sure to crank them down as low as you can with weight on them, This will help when reinstalling them, The spring still having the weight of the jeep will help hold it in place in tighting the compressors. Also careful not to let the compressor slide off the spring, It can make for a bad day.

Exactly, treat those compressed springs like a loaded gun

can you get under there with the wheel still on to put the spring compressors on with weight on the XJ? I never tried it that way, but it sounds like a very good idea, provided you can get to it.

Jack the axle up to remove the tire, While up on the jack put the compressor on then ease the jack down, putting the frame on the jack stand. ;)

well yeah that would work. My dumbass figured that part out taking the spring compressors off after installation of new colis or pucks. I guess I always like to get the rig set on jackstands before I start messing with the spring compressor. I've done it like 4x, and the spring compressors still scare me.

ok cool sounds good thanks for everyone's help on this .... i have one other question about the death wabble i had 31's on my jeep with no sway bars and it didnt do it now that i have put on 33's its wabbling alittle bit between 35 and 45 mph is that because the sway bars are off or is it somthing else it doesnt wabble real bad .

no i havent installed it yet im wating on the parts to come in to lower the transfer case . so any other ideas of what could be causin it????? and yes it stared after the 33s were put on... also does anyone know were to get regul trailbalzer mt tires i cant find the on the net anywere ?

ok i have the factory sway bars so ill just put them back on and have it lined up . oh and can i replace the u joints on the axles or do i have to repalce the hole axle? does anyone know were to get regul trailbalzer m/t tires ?
