Just a small question for some of you senior 4 wheel guys. I really don't know what my plan is at this time. I need to sell all my mustang stuff before i get into something else to play with. If i dont buy a jeep or bronco im going to build up 91 2WD isuzu i already have. Only have $50 in it so not afraid to destroy it. Will be droppin in a 306 and tons of other stuff. The question is should i 4link both ends or use leaf springs. I will also play in the mud here and there but mainly for rocks. You guys know the trails so any info is appreciated. THANKS!

Don't build a 2wd unless your plans are to convert it to 4wd.

If the plan is to articulate over rocks, leafs benefit from mods like 3/4 elliptical setups and revolver shackles to let the axle not only droop, but move in a smooth arc as it droops without binding prematurely.

You will find that the engineering, preparation, and driving approach to rockcrawling is sort of juxtaposed to mud-whomping. You can build a rig to do both OK, but it will be difficult to excel in both environs.
