OK,
so I did something dumb in the middle of my freeze plug issue.
I tried "cleaning" up.
well, not really, but I did kick the crap out of the nice board I had all the bolts carefully laid out and labeled where to go on.

So now I have 1 hole left, and 1 bolt, but I don't think it's the right bolt for the right hole.
:(
I just want to take a gander at someone's whose transmission is still nicely bolted to the jeep, and figure out where I screwed up, and if needed then go buy the right bolt.
Oh well, I suck.

Oh, I have my wife's car to drive to whereever, and I'm currently off of 540 on Leesville. (Claybank Place actually, but almost no one knows where that is)

Yo,
If the bolt will thread into the remaining hole with your fingers, it is the right thread. If it bottoms out with extra threads, cut the MF off. If its too short, take bolt with you and get a longer one. Thread that one into the hole and if it bottoms, cut it as well. You can always go to the dealer and show them which hole needs a bolt, when they pull up the parts screen, and get the right one the first time.

Hope this helps.

I actually had 2 holes, and 1 bolt.
The other hole was where the bolt I had went.
Not sure if it really even had a bolt?
There are a few other holes/etc that might have been for different options?
Next time instead of being all smart and laying out ever bolt in the same pattern on a big board, (so I can remember where they went) I'm putting all of them in a magnetic tray so that if I kick the damn thing, they'll STAY in the tray.
:)
I might just crawl under some random persons jeep today and start looking. :D
(As long as they aren't driving it should be fine.)

Yea, that would be smart.
I couldn't find my cable for my camera and I forgot my printer has a memory card reader.
Sooo,
Here is the bolt hole on the transmission I am talking about:

Or if you want a bigger pic, BIG BOLT picture

Also, while I'm asking, what is this part?

The top hole is the dust cover or something (dont know the name) I dont run half of mine but a regular nut and bolt should do. The bottem picture is the crank postion sensor (cps) that is imporatnat. Woln't start w/o it

and if you could next time would you rotate the pictures.. took me a while to figure out as to what i was looking at

I left em like that, cause whenever I look under like that, my head is turned sideways. :)
Yea, I know it just holds the dust shield on, which is kind of held on by all the other bolts etc etc, but on general principle, I don't like ending up with random holes, or extra bolts.

That hole doesn't go all the way through, so nut/bolt combo won't work. Tried figuring out the threading, but none of the bolts I had seemed to fit. So I gave up, thinking someone could give me a hint as to what the bolt looked like, or if even there was a bolt there from the factory.

As for the CPS, thanks. I should have known that, but just couldn't think of what it was. I put it back of course, on the assumption, if I don't know what it is, well, might as well leave it there. :D
