Well Im in the parts gathering mode right now but will be bending and welding real soon..........heres the new powerplant and the tranny Im gonna be using.Im planning on a single seater, rear engine, rockwell'ed,44'ed,rear steer'ed,oversize moon buggy type rig.......and YES it will be purple ...........

Yeah,,,its pretty wild.Its a pacesetter mid length header for 96-97 camaro/firebird...New they go for over 400.00....Im not gonna use em.....:)

Is the tranny going to be before or after the engine? If before, how do you get the rockwells to rotate the right way?
 
you can get the rockwell to rotate backwards, there is a writeup about it on pirate....

Man I was going to run a 4.3L but I found an LT1 for almost the same price with the ECM and the harness......Not to mention when i rebuild my brothers Firechicken for the 3rd time..I will inherit about 6000.00 worth of go fast parts for the LT1.............

Yep,,,you can make the rockwells run backwards with a little machine work...

That header looks like a malaria germ! Sounds like a cool project! We'll get to see it in the spring, right?
 
I picked up some axles today......I got em locally here in NC for 400 for the set.....and theyve got about 15 sets left.




Yah right......I had a hell of a time finding to steering Rocks for a decent price.
ANyways I got em now so the fun will start directly!!!!!!Waiting on the H1 rims....tubing,t case adapter,Shifter, 2 short side shafts,and a TJ to get out of my garage,then we will get R dun....

do they have any more steering rockwells? i need a front my new buggy. i have a rear but am not having much luck finding a front for any kind of resonable money.

Not reasonable in my book but conveniant...........Call them guys down there at WHite Owl and price em........thats where I got em...He does have a few fronts left though.

So far all i can see that they actually need is the boots,some new grease, and someone needs to Mohawk the bottoms......Oh yeah and flip the hubs,narrow the housings, weld the diff's,fab some high steer arms,spin the pumpkins,bore the pinion housing and fab spacers to run em backwards........not much really:huggy:

Sorry I didnt get back with you Chip,the guy in Ohio sold his load of Rockwells pretty much out from under us......to some one in Louisiana.I was ready to head up there and called him on Monday this past week to confirm the Friday pickup and he said"sorry but Ive sold them all"...........

Damn tempoffroad.........why dont you show us the OTHER post here on NC 4x4 that shows a buildup using an LT1/powerglide/np205/2 steering rocks......:flipoff2:
 
i was just refering to the axles. Just dont see why when someone get anything that has been posted on here quite a lot they feel the need to post up yet another pic. just get tired of seeing pic that has been posted a million times.
