Finally found a 3 in 1 machine I liked. Was a craigslist find, picked it up late Tuesday night. Got it setup on my bench making sure it works well enough to give it a permanent home.

The ways are straight and clean, with only a spot or 2. More/less everything looks in good shape. (to my untrained eye).

I had to snug up the bed adjustments and tail stock adjustments. but they are tight now.

I made some chips the other night. Pretty cool... THat said I really have only done basic stuff in the past and don't know much about 'proper procedures' etc.. Found tons of educational videos on line.. still watching them..

Machine is about 600#
Its a 'ShopTask' 17-20 id call it a medium size machine, not full size, but bigger than the more common little 3 in 1 machines. I've been looking for a while and just not finding anything i liked in my price range and close enough.. This one is CNC ready (needs motors), down the road I'll add some DRO stuff..

Plan to do some basic things, nothing fancy... Need to get a drill chuck and some other basic things to make it more usable... If it works out well, I may replace my other drill press with this.

It has 2 3/4hp motors, 1 for lathe, other for mill/drill head.. I like that it has proper speed ranges for metal work.

I'll try to snap some more pics later..

Nice! I'd love to come across something like that. It's definitely a compromise for the convenience, but perfect for doing smallish jobs. Don't get rid of your drill press, though. I think you'll regret it if you do.

There was a "Shop Smith''[i think], 4 sale on here. How do they differ? Seems like the pic I saw, had a different table.

A Shop Smith is for wood working, all the different features are cool, but you still need room to store all the attachments while they aren't being used.

Just posting up, some picture i took during the summer....
This for my jeep, rear axle so i can run disk brakes.... (Toyota rear)
This one is i mount a wheel 'hub' off of a newer vehicle, the bearing were not moving when i took it apart, which is why i wanted it....
[Thanks for send me one (i forgot your name, the stoke is bad when it come to that :( please send me your name, again :( ]
Anyway... i am not a machinist by any means, i hack thing together and stuff.... ;)
Hub in the jaws, bolt on rotor, secure with lug nuts, aluminum from my bearing install kit, follow by a bolt with an angle cut on the end (oil it up)..
All comes up the center within .003.. not bad....
This is about the most that i will turn in my lathe....
Its slow, but it works.... :flipoff2:
