i am a new meber here and this is my story so far.

well i am getting ready to sell a lot of stuff i got in life and pack up and move to the south. my family and i plan on moving to nc . if you would be willing to offer up some good info that would be super. we are looking for inland area around religh / durham / west or south west of these places. not set in stone for this area tho.

few basics on me i am 31 years old and single no kids or female friend . i have been doing auto mechanics for around 10 years or so. i have and use a top of the line snap-on tool box full of tools.

i have and like to work and have fun doing it. i have a good work mindset. show up to work early every day i am scheduled to work. also trusted with a key to the shop also for years.

any help you can give me would be super thanks people. :driver:

Welcome to nc4x4. No help for ya either though.

Welcome to NC4x4. I would probably try to nail down a job before I got too settled in on a place. Unemployment is still pretty high so employment would be more of a priority than location.

thats some good info thanks.

Welcome to the forum and to NC also.

Good luck on the move.
The state is very diverse and has something for everyone, that ssai there is not a lot of mixed use. Tell us a little about what you like and we can offer some suggestions perhaps.
You mentioned a few acres, well that is going to put you outside of the metro areas, unless you are prepared to drop serious coin on a home....I see home is NY state so depending on the area that depends.

Welcome aboard and early congrats on moving to North Carolina. I agree with sgtbriangreen on finding work first there is alot of jobless peeps down. What kind of shop do you work at now and what kind of work are you wanting to do?

i work at a full service auto repair shop now.

my best stuff is brakes/ suspension / driveline / alignments / custom parts install and fab work.

i am good with my hands so i dont need to do auto work if there is non. who knows. just checking on whats out there.

thank you sir. thats great. still finding things here. hadent found that yet.

still looking and reading all the info you fine people give me.

if your thinking of moving to our area. we might be looking for a tech. never hurts to ask

i am in to 4x4 stuff and doing gear work now. and great general tech.

Well I moved out to High point / Greensboro area then moved to Raleigh /Garner You still get that good ole country feel but have the big city near by There are plenty of places around here to look at I work at the local Meineke in garner . I have a 3 bedroom house in a suburb area but just a few miles down the road are some places with acreage . Also we are close to wheel Parts

thanks. but the only real thing i will try not to do is work for a chain store repair place.

X2 , recently my brother wanted to move back east. He carted all his belongings back here and spent 6 months looking for work...in the end he couldn't find what he was lookin for and moved away again.
