New Master Cylinder??

Quick run down. "80 Cj7, disc brakes, not power. 1 ton axles w/ disc conversion on rear (14blt).

Ques. : Do I need to get a different master cylinder because of the discs on the rear?

I would think you would whether they are power assist or not. The stock MC just wont move enough fluid to the 1 ton brakes. Check this link for more info:

i did on mine. i used master power brakes in mooresville. if i recall, they said the piston bore on the disc/drum setup wasn't the right size for a disc/disc conversion. i got a new manual master and prop valve for my setup.
