Might wanna look into explorer leafs there about 56" long have about a 5" or so offset and are spring under stock so they have good arch to em, I run em on my Z71 Jeep and it flex's pretty good :driver:

The IFS steering box is alright to re use for steering, just run a draglink from it to a high steer arm on the pass knuckle

btw: if that 4.3 is running good you can probably sell it to recoup some coin, thats a pretty popular engine for people to swap in there yota's, buggies, zuk's, etc.

**Edit: just noticed you said you were swappin in a th350 I read to fast and thought you meant you were swappin in a 350 like a 5.7 350, ignore the post about selling your engine, lol.

haha, i was wonderin why you were talkin bout me sellin the motor....then i read the edit........my buddy said the dakota leaves have crazy offset on em...cant remember exactly but i think it was more than 5..........think im gonna coil the front but not really sure yet

Just remember, the more offset they are, the more likely they will be to wrap up on you.

And for the coil'd end I suggest tractor links due to ease and cheapness :driver:

I don't recomend the tractor links Rick for one reason. Everyone I kow that has used them hates them. After they have been in a while they get slpo in them and are terrible noisy on the trail.

id say that front jeep (TJ,XJ,ZJ) coils are a pretty popular and cheap route to go...

dakotas have a 10" offset iirc... you might be able to use the s10 rears, i think they have an offset

thats what i was leanin towards was the xj coils....mostly bc my buddy has a set layin around.....i thought it was 10" but i didnt wanna be wrong and sound like a dumb:poop:

no wonder ricky is putting in so much advice this sounds just like something he would build

or possibly one that he would start, get 1/4 the way through, and sell off? :flipoff2: haha

Yea it hasn't moved in a good long while, problem is I pretty much do all the work and I'm never around so he can't ever get it done, it really doesn't need much. I might get it moved into the garage here shortly at least, spring break is comin up.
