think i finally got my xj buggy sold
would like to start new project asap
thinking inline 6 buggy
with some full width toy axles
dana 300
42's
any opinions or ideas????

i think your basically describing woody's (vangaurd) buggy...

fj80 axles are gonna be as fullwidth as yotas will get, but thats not quite what most would consider fullwidth axles...

ive gotta drivetrain for u though, if u really want some go...

I have a CJ7 frame, inline 6, D300 and automatic, i'd make you a deal on :)

got 44's now would that really be an upgade
not very fam with yota axles just what i'v seen is very impressive

your toy axles will be in route around lunchtime sat.......cant wait to see what kind of buggy come's out of ur shop. seems everyone is building a buggy this year....

and btw.....cant belive ur tube/cherokee hasnt sold yet....such a steal for the price/

as much as I hate to admit it yota axles are/can be built pretty stout, but I mean I was just looking at your project discription from above and you already have the majority in your current rig, would be pretty easy to stick a dana 300 and yota's under it, 42's would be pushin it but people do it, you just gotta build the crap outta the axle.

In all seriousness I think you aught to go to Rockwells if you wanna run the larger tires (42+) its not that hard to do, there already geared low and weld em up and your good to go . . . . not sure what it costs to fully build a yota axle but I'm sure you'd be near what it would cost to slap rocks under your current rig, and like I said you can always sell the junk your not gonna use to help fund it.

if you are going to go rocks pinion brake is the only way to go however not sure i would drive anything with rocks on the street

Rockwells, big block, tractor tires :driver:
Anything less and your just not manly :flipoff2:

no offense dude, but i really wish you would quit gaying up every single drivetrain thread with rockwell this and rockwell that

and i seriously doubt you could convince too many other people on here that tractor tires are worth their weight in shit for what we do

not everyone has their rig just to win a big dick contest, i would take yota axles over rocks any day

now now fellas just a simple ideas post. my thing with the rocks is my tow rig is a crew 1500 z71
yes .......i said z71 for ya
i like the rocks but no tractor tires for me, iguess i am more of a technical driver.
as far as the weak 6 i think built yotas will hold up to a jeep i6 or am i wrong?
i may just have to stay w/ a 37" tire and i'm cool with that

I've got a complete 4.2 that needs rebuilt, YJ frame and tub, steering column, etc... I'll make you a killer deal on everything I have left of it! As for my idea of a neat buggy, Idk. I really haven't gotten ahold of the whole buggy thing yet but for my next project I think I might build an old AMC Eagle wagon just to be different. As for you I agree with your original build but drop the tire size down to 38"-40".
