I just about have it all finished, but here is pretty much what it is going to look like. I just have to bolt it all down and it is pretty much ready except I was just wondering if anybody knows where I can get some shocks that are long enough. After measuring it all up the ride height would have to be 29 inches to get the best flex. Does anybody know where I can get shocks that size ?? Thanks for your help and please remember this is my first fab. EVER !! (be kind)

do you mean 29" long fully compressed? fully extended, etc?

I'm unsure how you calculated how tall the mounts needed to be, that's all.

Typically, I'll compress the axle until the shock is on the bump stop, and measure the distance to the shock mount, and buy appropriate shocks from there.

If, OTOH, you mean 29" long at ride height, IMO, you need to make that mount shorter.. even a 14" travel Bilstein is only 35" fully extended, but 20.75" compressed - I doubt you'll get 8" of compression on your suspension, but I'd hope you can get 6" of droop.. ;)

If you don't want to make the shock mount shorter, you could drill a hole further down on the upper mount, and use 2 brass bushings to center the shock inside the mount, perhaps mounting the top of the shock ~3" lower.

Oh, look down in the vendor section, there's some good places to get some shocks there. I'd recommend Bilstein's, Edelbrock's IAS, or some other monotube shock.

yeah....the 14 inch travel shocks are the longest I could find also and I figured that I would have to drill a 5/8 inch hole on both mounts and put the spacers inside, but before I did that I just wanted to make sure. But it is def. 29 inch from the mount on the axle to the top of the mount I made and if I am not mistaken then that would be the ride height right ?? Again thanks for the info Rich !!!

Go ahead and flex it. Stuff the tire and measure, then droop the axle all the way down and measure. Then order the long travel Bilstiens and adjust your holes to fit them. I added them to my rig after talking with Rich and loved them.
