I am looking into having a cage built into my yj. I have spoken to one co. that will use dom tubing if requested, but the gentleman says that his seamed pipe will do just as well for me. It is .92 or something like that, and mandrel bent. I have seen the cages he built for his race car and other toys and they look nice. Tell me what I need to know. I'm looking at about $500 to have a front hoop and some bracing incorporated into the stock family bar.

oh, and I have a friend with a cj that would like the same thing done too, so a multi-jeep discount would be nice!:driver:

If he's not using .120 wall, it's likely .088 wall as evidenced by your next statement about his racecar. They can get away with thinner tube as they use more of it (interior probably looks like a jungle gym!), is lighter weight, & their cages are built to withstand 100+ mph rolls & wrecks.

That same tube *WILL* dent/bend all to pieces in a slow offroad flop... that's why most folks settle on .120 for the happy medium between strength & weight...

Call Jim... he does top notch work.

I have one coming up for sale. HREW .120 wall added to a stock roll bar, $400. Lemme know if you want pics.
