Greetings. Thanks for hosting a "local" board that is both informational and entertaining. I have been out of the hobby for a couple years and now that the wife and i both have Jeeps, she underestands the jeep thing. She is new to the board also (no posts yet) 97wrangler. We both are currently driving 97 Wranglers and in the process of building them (imagine having to do every mod in duplicate....ouch) and I also have a 90 wrangler basket case (at least the frame and body are 90) that I have not moved down here (pretty sure I'm gonna end up sellin it instead of movingit from Hampton Virginia). We are in Holly Springs and are plannin on finding a club in June since i will be workin 6 days a week, 12 hours a day until then. Sorry for the long post, wanted to introduce us.

Thanks,
Tony

sweet, welcome

Small Question, Why did you deside to make both jeeps the same? why not try differnt mods for both jeeps. just make sure to give her the better mods :D (or at least lie and say you did)

Welcome aboard. I can relate to the double mods, wife has a 97 XJ she wheels along with my 97 TJ.

Twins. LOL Doing the same sorta with a pair of Toys. Welcome, remember, you can always rob parts offa one of 'em. :flipoff2:

Hello, well since hubby posted I guess I should too. Im Marianne his wife. I'll tell ya the story of how I became a Jeep Lover. Well first off, Tony's first Jeep was a big red piece of junk YJ, I thought it was the ugliest thing I have ever seen, it had a homemade roll cage, no carpet, and the panels on the door were missing, it was just plain ugly. He forked over so much money into that thing. Well back then he was in the Navy and we were living in NY, I hated it there so much and knew we were going to be stationed in Virginia in 6 months, so we bought a house in Virginia and me and the kids moved there, while he stayed in NY. While he was there, he bought a navy 97 TJ. He came to visit us in Virginia, and he brought the Jeep. I decided to take it for a drive, since it was nice looking, it had carpet, and all the panels and stuff. Well I fell instantly in Love it. I convinced him to leave it with me and he could drive my car back to NY. While he was gone I got the Jeep liscensed and Titled in Virgina and I got personalized plates that said HerJP. LOL. He wasnt very happy about that, because he really wanted a TJ. Well I really loved my Jeep, and the kids did too, especially when the top was off. But I really wanted a black Jeep with black interior, my blue one has Tan interior which is super ugly in my opinion. So we went to a car dealer a few weeks ago and we found, a 97 TJ in Black, it had tan interior and a Tan top. We decided to buy it, and we replaced the Carpet with black carpet, and we put the tan carpet in now his Blue TJ ;P, the carpet in the new Jeep was in much better shape, and we used that car restore spray stuff, not sure what it is called, and made the tan of the interior Black. We also bought a new black top, and put the Tan one on the blue Jeep, since it was fairly new and in much better shape then the other one. He just put a 3 1/2" lift and 33" tires on it last weekend, and sidesteps, so that I can get in. My Jeep is so sweet, I just love it, it is my dream Jeep. Well now that I have wrote a book, sorry about that. This looks like a great place, and everyone seems pretty cool. Looking forward to meeting ya'll

Thanks for the welcomes! We will surely be joining a club and hitting some trails starting in June, can't wait to get back out. It sucks having to wait that long, but I only have 12 or days off work between now and then. The twin Jeeps will allow for better deals on parts, and we can get buy carrying fewer total spare parts. Don't worry though, she will get the "best mods" and I'll take the not so great ones like that ugly winch on the front and those really ugly flat-fenders and such, lol.

We are on the south end of Holly Springs, the city limits is my back yard, by 55.

Thanks
Tony

You might see a slightly built silver TJ around town every now and then, I live part time off of Ballentine by the 55.
It's usually covered in mud, I can't stay out of the stuff..

Look into the Carolina Jeepsters, you can find them on yahoo groups, they are a great group of people and have lots of organized events throughout the year.

nice to meet yall, names Ryan. Bunch of great people around, eager to help you out. Good luck with the double Tj's. I am debating on getting a YJ in the future.

Welcome

Blueyak, if you are considering a YJ and lookin for a project one, I would be willing to let mine (it is in hampton Virginia right now) go for best offer. It needs a new engine, the one itn it is a basket case, but works. It last drove from upstate New York to Virginia so it is mostly road worthy although it hasnt moved in about 8 months as far as I know. 4" BDS lift, 4.10 gears, true-trak in the rear, 33x12.5x15 cavalier mud terrains with not many miles (less than 2000) but they may be flat spotted from sitting so long. It is ugly, atleast marianne says so.

Thanks
Tony
