Well I introduced myself in the appropriate section but I'd figured I'd post up some stuff bout what I'm gonna try to do. I would post it somewhere else but i don't got a sponsor yet so that ain't possible.

But I'm lookin to get a 1973-79 F100 or 150 or a 78-79 bronco. I would be lookin to do an SAS with a Dana 60 up front and myabe a 14 bolt in the rear. not sure bout the rear yet. All leaf spring. But problem being is I don't have the experience to do this by myself. So I'm hopin someone on here after a while would be willin to help me on it.

Also if someone's willin to be a sponsor then that would be great. I'm a pretty respectful guy so there ain't much to worry bout.

Welcome.

What type of projects do you have experience with so far?
What tools do you have access to or own?
Any experience welding?
Why the 73-79 Ford (just curious)?
What else have you worked on?

This would be my first big project on a truck.
I have access to alot of tools, anything from impact wrenches to welders to sockets. My grandpa has 10's of thousands of dollars of tools.
I don't have a lift though.
I'm in the process of learning to weld from a friends father.
And the most i've really worked on is simple stuff on my pathfinder like alternator starter stuff like that. I have helped my friend put a 13 inch lift on his jeep and relocate his axles but it was pretty much all bolt on.

And for the year, one I figure it will be easier with an axle swap as they're already a solid axle and Ford simply because I like the looks of them better.

I know I don't have much experience but I'm willing to learn all about it and I want to learn with this project.

Haha... winner, winner, chicken dinner. A man after my own heart. Late 70s Fords are probably my all-time favorite...

although I like all the big Broncos. :)

I can't help you with learning tech, but I'll be your sponsor so you can ask questions and all that.

CYd's a push over!

Seriously, as far as a build you need to gather your thoughts first, even before collecting parts.

Do you plan to drive this on the road? What size tires are you planning on running, take that size, and plan for 2-3 sizes bigger.
If it's going to be a trail rig only, how will you get it to the trail? Tow rig? trailer?
A project like this is tough for a seasoned guy, much less a newbie. You need more than a sponsor, you will need a mentor who is experienced doing this kinda swap/rebuild.
Good luck

Tell the truth, it all started for you with John Travolta and urban cowboy didnt it....

38" or maybe 40"

Thanks I'll be lookin for someone that can help me out with all of this. THanks for the encouragment and help though, it is helping me get my thoughts together

Sounds like your on the right track.

The advice I would give you is read and read up some more. Hang out in chit chat get to know some people, keep your eye out for meet and greets in your area. Attend a meet and greet or a event. Make friends with people that have like interests. Most everyone is open to some help wrenching a there rig. Have a plan as Upnover has stated. Post your questions in Newbie tech if your stumped. We will help you in any way we can.

welcome and seems like u have your :poop: together so far. give it a bit and answer ?s asked and you will find your sponsor and before you know it, be on your way!

All the above is great advise. I think the biggest hurdle is figuring out what you want and sticking with it. I would suggest going to an event or club ride and make your decision from that. By the way Welcome aboard and check out the build and tec sections. Good luck

Thanks again trailhugger for sponsorin me!

And i guess Uwharrie's the closest trails to me that ya'll do get together's at so I'll try and make it to one of em
