looking to do a sas swap on my hardbody looking for suggestions on the best axles to use and so on. Need advice and parts so give me a post. why does noone do nissan? or if someone wants to trade on a lifted cherokee or toyota trk. my build will be a dd/trail so i need advice on the best overall parts to be a good dd and a capable trail truck also.

The most common swap is a non-vacuum disconnect Dana 44 from a 80+ Jeep Wagoneer. The track width is pretty close and the bolt pattern is the same. Properly done it will require a cut-and-turn on the inner Cs to get the caster correct. Leaf spring SAS can be done using your own or a Calmini crossmember and some bell shackles with the perch frenched into the frame rails.

There are people SASing Nissans. Houdini here on the board runs tons on his Frontier, and I am about to swap axles under mine. Visit roninwheelers.com or nissan4wheelers.com if you want to see some SAS Nissans.

yes beetle im gettn parts for my nissan but years ago we use yo offroad with vws we would take a standard beetle cut it in half ,put back together with some ditch witch tires jack the front up put some rock bumpers on it and go wheel. so depending on which i find first but everyone thinks you have to have 4x4 to wheel and i know better the vw will suprise ive took my old short dawg up and over 4ft tall rock people would have to see to believe.

I thought you were going to put the VW body on the Nissan frame. Im familiar with baja bugs and their capabilities, but you lost me at "cut it in half"
