no forward gears in 700r4

i have reverse but no forward gears. any ideas on what might be the issue. tranny set for 2 years went though it put it back in truck so i dont no y it would have started doing it. worked when it was taken out. new seals and cluches.
 
rod is in manual valve, sungear is in aslo. but ty for the info. i think it might be the valve body or the torque converter. or maybe wrong splined stator shaft.
 
there is only 2 spline counts on the 700.
is it an early model or late (aux vb )
how many check balls did you put in it?
if it's aux vb did you put the tube in pump to vb?
did you take pressure reg. valve out of pump?
did you put a new seal in the bottom of input drum?
maybe a cut sealing ring (teflon) on pump or input shaft?

if you can answer my questions i can help walk you through this.

possibility but they were all new.
 
if it has reverse than it's not the converter.

i'm a little confused, if it has the tube from the pump to the aux vb it is a late model (87-94)


if it has an aux valve body it should have 8 checkballs, the checkball in the aux vb if for the forward clutch.

are you sure it had the checkball in the aux vb?
 
sry i left out the no in the answer for tube in pump. so no tube in pump. it is a tranny from an 84. im looking to get an 87+ 700r4 for the aux vb. down ther road.
