i have a '74 chevy with a TH400 transmission and an NP205 transfer case. I am about to buy another NP205 that was put on an sm465 tranny. my question is, do i need to get an adapter plate to bolt the t-case onto my th400 and how much does they usually cost? also i was wondering if i have a 3/4 ton or a one ton. it has 8 lug axles, rear: 14 bolt front: dana 44 and its a long bed. does anybody know? motor is a 350.

205 from 465 uses a 10 spline male input with a drive sleave. 400 205 uses 32 spline female input. 400 adapter will bolt to t-case but you would have to change input gear. 32 spline also uses bigger bearing so you have to get case boored out to swap.
