Anyone know of a company that makes nylon straps like what ratchet straps are made of? Anything from the wide stuff that would be suitable for a tow strap, all the way down to 1/2 inch wide stuff. My Uncle makes dog collars, leashes, lead ropes etc and has lost his connection due to the owner dying. He travels to field trials and horse shows to sell his wares, but needs materials to make them.
Any help would be appreciated.

If I am not mistaken carolina chain and cable makes or has nylon straps simular, if not thicker. I know for a fact they go as wide as 1-3 inchs. I think the are on yonkers road (hard to find though)

Lauren, if you can get me a number or other contact info I would appreciate it. Lso, if you can see if they will sell to the "little man"

I am sure they do, if not I can place an order for you (but I can not get you as good of a deal)

I normally talk to bruce. 919-831-2333

Chip, say you Uncle makes the stuff? Maybe I can get him in touch with a bud in A'ville that also makes sled dog harnesses and packs (might as well make the little :poop:s carry their own food & water when trekking!) ?

Possibly there isn't as much overlap in their respective niches and they could help each other? Mark has a very extensive list of suppliers for that stuff...

That would be kewl Dave. Uncle Johnny is getting up there in years and even if their markets overlapped, I doubt he would put a dent in any market. Just something he likes to do.
Send me the info

Go to Marion to Foam & Fabrics. They have a bin where you can buy the nylon straps by the pound. It is from 1/2" wide to 2" wide. I think the last I bought was 6.50(?) a pound. Hope this helps.

ISI Slings in Kernersville makes all kinds of straps and slings for industrial uses so I don't know how small they go down to. I had them price me a stout recovery strap and it was not even close to store bought prices so I backed off that idea. They were nice people to talk to and can literally make any kind of recovery strap you could want. my .02
