So my O2 sensor (bank 1, sensor 1) on my 96 tacoma is pretty much dead and I've got a new sensor waiting to go in, but I've got an issue. The factory nuts that were on the bolt studs on the exhaust have basically disintegrated to little blobs of metal. So how do I get these off so I can replace my sensor?

I have basically redone my whole exhaust, although I still need a new muffler. New hi-flow cat, and new exhaust pipe. For the O2 sensor mount, I took a piece of 1/4" thick steel, cut it to the shape of the O2 sensor, drilled the holes, and welded two grade 8 bolts in as 'studs'. It works great so far, no leaks (except out of the muffler). I am sure you could go to a muffler shop and get them to fix it, or get someone that lives near you to make the little plate to weld to the pipe for the O2 sensor.

If you need a picture just let me know.
