I need a battery for my tractor, something that won't corrode and leak, and will hold a charge for a reasonable amount of time of non usage ( 2-4 weeks )

is it worth the extra for the Odyssey ?

Current battery is 5-6yrs old ( Napa group 51R, probably a rebadged Excide) , and still starts the tractor, though it is a little slow.

will/could the Odyssey last this long or longer ?

the Optima's I had did well, but they were the older models, not willing to risk the new.

i have had 3 odyssey batteries in 3 different buggies,i currently have a 925 in my honda buggy and love them.Id purchase another in a heartbeat.

I just bought one 2 months ago.
Can't really say much for the preformance... but if you get the Sears DieHard one, the warranty is insane, 100 months. First 5 years is completely free replacement, they tag it by your name/number, no need for a receipt etc.
and that sucker is HEAVY. My God never seen an automotive battery that weight > 50 lbs.

Odyssey's are great batteries. My 2150 can sit for months and still crank the diesel.

There's an Odyssey in the Bronco. It's probably been in there since 2002 or 2003ish?. It started right up the other day. Dunno when the last time was that it had been cranked... but it was months ago.

But the fawkers are expensive... doubt I'd drop the coin for a fawking tractor. Just grab the price point battery from Wal-Mart or whatever.
