April 29 - May 1 is the Raid North Georgia. Modeled after the extinct Safari Triathlon and the Tennessee Off-Road Challenge, this "triathlon" uses 4x4's instead of running (see the hill climb photo), canoeing instead of swimming, and mountain bikes instead of road bikes. Also included in the race are Time-Speed-Distance stages, GPS navigation stages, and other 'mystery events'.
registration deadline is March 30.
I ran it last year and had a blast. I would love to join up with some other folks from the Triad to form a team to compete for the Challenge Trophy. I teamed up with RenegadeT and we won it last year so I need someone this year to help me defend! The registration deadline is March 30.
