Oil from exhast manifold?

I posted this on pirate, I know there are alot of toy guys here so I'm posting here too.

Ok, I havent started my truck in about 4-5 months. Last time I did it ran fine. So, I'm taking it to Carolina Rock Shop to get the tube work and some other odds and ends finished up cause I don't have the time anymore.

I go to start it and when it turns over it feels like its only fireing on one cylinder, also. There appears to be a crack in my manifold and oil is coming out of it.

Could it be that because only one cylinder is fireing the oil is just seeping past and shooting out the newly developed crack? I think it needs new plugs and stuff. But this has got me really worried.

I've got a ride this weekend.

BTW, Andy is not any engine guy so he won't be much help with this.

Thanks
CJ

i can't diagnose over the internet, but usually there are a few common things that might leave you with oil coming out of your exhuast.

You didn't say it was burning oil, so I'll assue it isn't coming upstream of the compresssion stroke.

SEVERE blow by, at this point it needs a rebuild. Might wanna check that PCV
Worn exhuast valve, guides, seals etc, allowing the oil pooled ontop of your head to enter the exhaust port directly, would need minimum of new seals, but probably a remanned/rebuilt head
Crack in the head, allowing oil from one of the galleys to flow out into the exhaust passage.

these are not specific to a 22r, and i've never seen this problem on one personally, I've thrown a few toyota rods, and hydrolocked one before, but have never had oil leaking from there, many other leaks but not that one.,

just think about it, where is the oil coming from, going to, and how can it possibly get there.

What did the old plugs look like? Were they black and oily or tan and just had too big a gap? How much oil does it use it a given period of time? Mine used to burn about a quart every thousand to 1500 miles. I put a quart of lucas oil stabilizer in it and it's used a half a quart in 4500 miles. It also helped my buddys POS Ford F-150 w/ a 4.2 Litre. His problem was oil pressure. It wouldn't have hardly any at idle. Now it's much better. It still drops a bit at idle but it's waaay better.

They were black, I though about a head gasket too, but no milkshake anywhere. And the gap was too big. I reset them to factory spec. So, we'll see. I dont think the lucas will hurt. Also the gas in the tank is about 3 years old. I'm gonna drain that pretty soon and put new gas in it.

Black plugs means it's burning oil. Probably a combination of things. Worn rings leaking valve seals etc, etc. The lucas oil stabilizer will slow theose problems, but like me, you're ultimately looking at a rebuild. Me, I'm just gonna keep putting oil in it 'till I can afford a Supra Turbo motor.
