Buddy of mine ( extremely non-mechanical) has a 2015 Wrangler with a 3.6 …… intermittently runs like poo, shakes, rattles, almost won’t roll because of power loss.
Pulled codes the other night ….
P0157 - bad sensor, this is a known issue.
P0302 - general misfire code with the 2 indicating cylinder 2.
P0202 - although I do plan to do a couple more diagnostics on it, this in the number 1 suspect.
Plan to this point is coils and plugs. (Smoking prices on 1A Auto Parts) ….. and I don’t want to remove the intake again.
But the 202 is nagging me, because it actually fits my original thoughts before I started diagnosis.
Roached fuel injector ……
Is a bad fuel injector the usual cause of a 200 code?
I have managed to sell him on the fact we have it uncovered so we should replace the injector just because, but I hate shotgun diagnostics and want to know the issue and not just pour a bucket of parts on it.
Thought?
Ideas?
Suggestions?

TIA

A thorough description of the diagnostic and function of the injector signal here:

I would check the harness for damage, use a noid light to verify pulses from the PCM, check for constant +12v on the harness. Then of course, yes replacing that injector. The vehicle is a decade old now so a bad injector is not unheard of.

Although it wasn’t on a wrangler forum, I did watch a vid of a guy diagnosing the same problem and he concluded it was a bad pcm.
I’m hoping that’s a worst-case scenario!!!
