For the 20 billionth time :handed:

Musta caught whatever my Jeep had cause it wouldn't run either, hooked the ford to the jeep to jump it off, 20 min later ford wont run either, allthou I'm fairly certain its completely not related to that.

Anyway, 66 ford f100, 390

A while ago it had cutting out issues, was vaporlock, the clothespins thing worked

been running fine for a while, several months, water pump just went out and I replaced it, it was running fine for bout three days, hooked it to the jeep to jump it off, unhooked it later, let it run for a few more min, then shut it off, 5 min later when I go to move it, won't start, or even sound like it's trying to just turns over.

Aight, like I said, nothing new, so I check all connections (theres like 5 maybe) then I check to see if its getting fuel, yep, then I check to see if its getting spark, yep (pulled a wire and got it to arc to the block) so then checked the points just in case which are new and yea they are open/closing fine

so shes got spark, air, and fuel . . . ideas?

oh and I tried starting fluid, didn't do a thing, acts like theres no spark, but like I said, I physically witnessed it arcing

Thanks

*PS also just discovered I busted an intake valve on number 4 in the 500 in the Jeep, in a really good mood right now . . . . .

So now she's turning over but still nothing? The only thing I can think of is your not getting enough voltage. Have you checked to see if there is spark on any of the other cylinders.

Does it sound different when turning over? Like turning over faster? It's possible you didn't warm up the thing long enough and the cylinders got washed down with all the excess fuel used for cold start and you don't have any/enough compression Try putting a bit of motor oil in each cylinder. I've seen this MANY times. Even did it to my Toyota when the timing belt tensioner came loose and it jumped time. After I got it all put back together it still wouldn't start so I put oil in the cylinders and she fired right up. (Smokes like a freight train for a bit so start it outside if it's in a garage.)
