Going thru Grandma and Grandpaps stuff now that they've both moved on.

Came across some interesting stuff. My Grandpap was a radioman in the Navy for WWII. Found a scrap book that I'm guesing Grandma assembled. all kinds of papers, clippings, Western Union telegraphs, sketch of Mt Fuji with the Sunrise behind it that he did to mail back to Grandma. In the back of the book is an old Japanses Flag folded up and put in a plastic bag with a note that said, taken from a Japanese ship. HOW COOL!

Anyway, I brought home an envelope full of Monetary bills, from all over. much of it I've already found to be Souvenier reproduction Confederate bills. Some still unconfirmed, but I'm assuming the same holds true for them.

Other money was circulated money. Take a look:

just thought they were pretty intersting

Most of what I found online so far says they hold no real value other than sentimental.

to the right people that money is prob worth lots of money if u ever got into a bind and needed money for urself. but i know if i found stuff like that at my grandparents house it would take some very hard times to get rid of it. killer find

That is Awesome..

When my grand father recently passed I was so Happy I got his Baby Grand piano, so we can keep it in our family..

I would keep those for a long time to pass on to your kids..

pretty damn cool.

ditto on the pesos being in english and resembling our current/recent currency...

I agree completely. My parents gave me my grandparent's ice box they used in the 30's. It will always stay in the family.

Wow that is very cool. I recently got my grandpa's sidearm from WWII. It is a 1944 p38 luger 9mm. it's one of about a billion produced, but still neat to see and it still shoots great.

When my Grandpap passed away about 12 years ago, I got his Split Bamboo Fly rods. about 3 total, I think one is still in good condition. those may hold some value, but I'mthinking they're gonna look nicer hanging on my wall rather than someone elses.

dude that is so awesome. I'd never let go of those, great thing to pass on.

When my grandmother died my mom was cleaning out her stuff and found a whole ton of German Reichmarks. She was in the WAC during WWII and brought them home.

My grandfather I'm closest to (the other one I barely knew, he was a tool) is still around but he has all kinds of cool stuff. He has the papers from when my great great great etc grandfather was in the Civil War, including his discharge papers and all. Also has a rocking chair that he bought for my great great great etc grandmother on his way home after the war. I think he actually has his rifle too. He was also in WWII in the Pacific in the Navy, but he doesn't like to talk about it. Who knows what stuff he's got hidden around from that.

The guy said the dead give a ways on fake bills are on the backside in the bottom left corner will be FACSIMILE in very small letters, clean straight cut edges that are parallel with the print and the feel of the paper itself. It should be a rice paper which is much smoother and lighter feeling.

He also said that there are some bills from late in the war of Northern Aggression that they were low on supplies and would actually reprint over bad prints. You'll see a previous print running perpendicular to the bill. It was actual currency, not a screw up. It was pretty cool to listen to someone that really knows their stuff on this old money.

He has a store in High Point Up near the Hardees on Main Street if anyone is interested.

Very neat stuff. I live about 12 miles from Appomattox Courthouse, there is always cool stuff around here. But I don't think I have seen any in that shape.
