Drove by there about 7:30 fri night. Saw LOTS of firfighters but not a single drop of water being sprayed. Wonder why?

probably to far gone
alot of times they won't endanger their lives if they know the structure is going to be a total loss. a tell tale sign of this is when they all blow their air horns at the same time. its a creepy sound, knowing there is nothing that can be done

The water was probably being used to protect other nearby structures from damage from the heat and embers I'd imagine, otherwise, I'm surprised they didn't use the "surround & drown" method, but there's always mitigating circumstances.

Looking more closely, I think I do see some of that.. look by the yield sign.. Looks like a stream.

The blowing of the horns has always been to tell the attack crews to get the fawk out when there is the potential of the structure failing, but that's only when there are crews inside the structure... No other reason to take the operators away from the panels IME.

Possible but when i went by it was still daylight and NOTHING was being done. Also it was scheduled for demolition in a few months and the burn would probaly saved an assload in dump chargers. Just fishy IMO

Might be they fire department used it for training? Been known to happen to old buildings that are condemned.

That was the old St. Stephens Elemantary. They built a new school or whatever and closed it. It had to be demolished and what better way???

That is the area of where I-40 will have some type of tie-in to Springs Road.
